Rethinking hospitality: Shortlist announced!
Open competition for young architects, designers and urbanists to help hospitality in facing challenges posed by COVID-19
The global pandemic has put us all in difficult situations. Wherever we are, in the last months we have faced challenges that we had not expected. The new virus is not only a threat to our health, but it is also deeply impacting the way we work, learn and go about our lives.
Some sectors, along with millions of customers and hundreds of thousands of their employees, have been impacted more than others. Hotels, restaurants and cafés are among them. Some of them could temporarily switch to different models of service, others had to shut down their doors awaiting to weather the storm. Nonetheless, all hospitality businesses are in need to rethink and redesign the use and organization of spaces to adapt, grow and keep delivering the services that we love.
At Good Goes Viral we believe that there is only one way to overcome these challenges – together. This is why we challenged young architects, urbanists and designers to innovate and contribute with their ideas!
We were humbled by the response that you all gave us. Over 50 teams submitted their projects and, after a couple of weeks of careful analysis, our judges picked 10 ideas that will compete for the final awards.
All the shortlisted entries will now be discussed during a plenary panel and on August 23rd we will publish the list of 5 finalists and, among them, the winning project.
We cannot wait to start sharing the projects with you and all the hotel and restaurant owners that will be able to learn from them, use them and get inspired!
