Finalist: “Your Pendant Space” offers an affordable solution for COVID-19 businesses.

Introducing GGV’s first finalist, “Your Pendant Space”, created by Rosa Perez Resino of Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), presents an affordable, mobile, and simple solution for hospitality businesses to install sanitary designs in their spaces.

Your Pendant Space proposal tries to create a temporary and affordable solution for this

emergency phase which is being suffered especially by the hospitality industry. The mobile

devices that we propose are easy to handle, store, and disinfect. And through them, it is

possible to generate an own and safe space against COVID-19.

The design is simple and allows its implementation in almost every hospitality environment,

from a café to a restaurant. Different sizes and forms accommodate from one to four guests

at the same table. The form, lightness, and folding system make it easy to manipulate by

the staff. To implement this proposal there is no need for a big and expensive renovation,

so once the sanitary crisis has finished all the installations can be dismantled or reused as

I love the out of the box thinking of this presentation, the ability to offer safety and privacy

to diners while still offering a product that is attractive and easily integrated into an existing

space. This concept would also allow for restaurants to get a fuller occupancy than they

would if they had to space tables 6 feet apart, giving the ability to serve more customers at

one time and give them a higher chance of staying in business.” – Laura Mitzner Paletz

This proposal of pendant elements impresses

by creating an easy and affordable solution of divisions...

by arranging flexible space constellation in a short period of time...

by temporarily movable units the enable to react functionally...

by promoting a certain simplicity of assemblage...

by combining decorative forms/shapes with complex functional needs ...” – Lukas Rungger

It is simple, practical and has a clean look.” – Sam-Erik Ruttmann
